Froggies - Sunshine Coast Environment Awards

The Sunshine Coast Environment Awards - Froggies, recognises the significant contributions made by members of the Sunshine Coast community, businesses and community groups in achieving positive environmental outcomes in the Sunshine Coast region.
In previous years͕ the Froggies have been awarded in categories based on the issues a project sought to address (waste, water etc). This approach did not do justice to the interrelated nature of many of these issues͕ nor to the ability of many past nominees to respond to multiple issues. 

This year the categories have been re-written along organisational rather than environmental 
boundaries. This year the Froggies seek to recognise a champion in each of the following categories:

  • Government 
  • Small/Medium Business 
  • Large Business 
  • Individual
  • School 
  • Not for Profit Association 
Nominees in each category will be judged on their success in minimising negative impacts on the  environment and maximising positive outcomes for the environment.

The Froggies awards will be presented at Lake Kawana Community Centre on November 4 from 5pm to 8 pm.

Housing Affordability the focus of Pre-Budget Submission by REIA

The Real Estate Institute of Australia has put forward a Pre-Budget Submission to the Commonwealth  Government identifying a range of areas which affect housing affordability that need to be addressed in the  2011/12 Budget.
