Free Public Transport Information Sessions

A series of free public transport information sessions will start at the end of April to give businesses tools and tips to help visitors and residents get around the Coast. Sunshine Coast Council’s Transport Strategy Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said local businesses, tourism operators and visitor centres including volunteers could benefit from the interactive sessions. A lot of information is available on bus and train times, stops, routes, fares and ticket options - but trying to find it can be quite daunting, especially if it’s on the newer online formats. There are quick and easy ways to access this information and these sessions will show you how, as well as provide tips for giving good directions and handling bus and train enquiries. Numbers are limited and bookings are essential.  Free Public Transport Information Sessions Maroochy Surf Club, 34-36 Alexandra Parade, Maroochydore Thursday 2nd of May 6pm to 8pm (Presentation 6.30pm to 7.30pm) Numbers are limited

Tiger touches down for Sunshine Coast Easter

Tiger Airways Flight TT252 touched down on the Sunshine Coast, beginning a regular  route from Melbourne bringing Victorian visitors to the region over the next 12 months.  Victoria and Melbourne are key interstate markets for the region, with more than 40 percent  of interstate holiday visitors to the Sunshine Coast coming from Victoria, according to the  latest National Visitor Survey. The new Tiger Airways’ flights from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast are perfectly timed to  deliver a boost for the region during key Easter holiday period. Tiger will increase the four weekly flights to daily in June, taking the number of seats into the  region to 1,260 per week and further cementing the airline’s confidence in the Sunshine Coast  as a tourism destination.
