Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area

The Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area has reached a significant milestone with the State Government approving the project’s development scheme.
Maroochydore City Centre would be instrumental in building and strengthening the Sunshine Coast region.
This major development, which will be delivered over the next 25 years, will provide a mix of residential, commercial, retail, civic and community uses to create a thriving and vibrant business district and city centre, complementing and enhancing Maroochydore’s existing business offering.
The project will deliver much needed infrastructure to the Sunshine Coast community and create significant opportunities for economic development and employment.
The Maroochydore City Centre will be instrumental in building and strengthening the region. The master planning process has also identified entertainment and convention facilities, community facilities and meeting spaces, parklands, walkways, recreation areas and waterways and an enhanced public transport network.
Council will now embark on the next stage of detailed design and precinct planning in readiness for work to start on site in June 2015 when the Horton Park Golf Club relocates to their new course at Bli Bli.

Housing Affordability the focus of Pre-Budget Submission by REIA

The Real Estate Institute of Australia has put forward a Pre-Budget Submission to the Commonwealth  Government identifying a range of areas which affect housing affordability that need to be addressed in the  2011/12 Budget.
